Update 12/17/2008

Pr. 17:22 – A joyful heart is good medicine, but a crushed spirit dries up the bones.

The chemo and radiation started in earnest this morning. I wish it was in Earnest tonight. Not sure what the issue is but I just feel a bit like I’ve been run over by a truck, but this too shall pass. The good news is that the chemo will be done not 3 time a week but 3 times, once every 3 weeks. The bad news is that each treatment is powerful enough to work for 3 weeks.

Radiation is every day and at this point no problem. This too shall pass. Radiation evidently builds in the body.

The entire staff at NW Cancer Specialists are amazing. They genuinely care about the patient’s well being. I don’t know how many times we were told today that if we think anything is not as it should be to call them, talk to them, ask more questions. And the folks in the chemo room are like a big happy family. There were probably 50 to 60 folks in there this morning getting chemo and it was like a big party.
